They have remade this thing before, 1978 with Donald Sutherland and directed by current Indy IV writer Philip Kaufman, but I liked the black and white version better. Love the pods. Looking forward to this new one. In the original they changed the way it ended before release, then ended it as originally intended in 78. Liked the 56 end better.Andrew Fryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05434806942584240318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273264.post-8050766181340855962007-08-14T11:18:00.000-07:002007-08-14T11:18:00.000-07:002007-08-14T11:18:00.000-07:00Thanks, Mom.As I think about it, I wonder if the m...Thanks, Mom.

As I think about it, I wonder if the movie's lack of a solid resolution is what terrified me the most.

The ending is--in theory--a happy one. The doctor calls the FBI and they have evidence of the pod people. So--in theory--the good guys will win.

But we never actually see the resolution, something that was surprising for a fourth grader. Also, the closing shot is of the hero vainly trying to stay awake. Does he survive? Does he fall asleep before a Pod assimilates him?

Even if the aliens are stopped, it seems fairly likely that the hero isn't going to make it.Erikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08448401616156887602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273264.post-76665895061164195102007-08-14T08:43:00.000-07:002007-08-14T08:43:00.000-07:002007-08-14T08:43:00.000-07:00It was me.
